A Nigerian of the Igbo extraction, Jude O Nkama has succesfully made history and became appointed as the first African to hold the position of a judge in the 349 year history of the city and State of New Jersey, USA. This appointed came in on the 6th January 2016.
Also, Hon. Ras Baraka, Mayor of the City of Newark, NJ appointed another kinsman of his, Hon. Ugochukwu Nwaokoro as Deputy Mayor; and Evans Anyanwu, Esq. as Chief Prosecutor of the city.
