trending over the social and print media shows that the 2016 Budget
transmitted to Nigeria's Senate by President Buhari sometime ago was reported missing. The
budget process which was supposed to be started both at the plenary and committee level of the senate chamber was virtually stalled because the Senate could not locate were it is.
The 2016 budget transmitted to the Nigeria's legislative arm of government describes the expectted expenditures, both current and recurrent as well as expected revenues from several sectors of the economy. With the present prevailing economic situation of Africa's largest economy, the senate may have decided to give the budget a speedy passage so as to give the economy a new lease of life.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe raised a point of order to address the issue of missing budget going around the media. The senate president afterwards inaugurated a committee to look into that issue and present their feedback.
It will be recalled that this is the first budget to the national assembly, coming from the new administration of President Buhari.
