Profit is said to be the sole or the most important or underlying motivation for any business. An entrepreneur or a business owner would go into a trade with purpose to make profits by providing goods and services to clients. Employees or workers are recruited to serve such a purpose and are paid agreed wages. 

However, profits made in such businesses (after settling every responsibility) belongs the owners or managers of the business and just a few drops off to the floor to the employees. If employees complains, that few drops may even dry up. This is depicted on that graphics above.
