Lagos will be hosting one of the biggest print media events organized to reward excellence in various field of human life. The event comes up this Saturday where the executive governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano, will be conferred with the Sun Governor of the year Award in Lagos.
The Managing Director and Editor in-Chief of the Sun Newspapers Mr Eric Osagie while presenting the invitation of the Award to Governor Obiano, at the Governors Lodge Amawbia, said the honour is in recognition of his numerous developmental accomplishments in Anambra State especially in poverty reduction.
In view of this, some prominent citizens of the state have been reacting positively to the issue.
Speaking to the ABS in Awka, a Lagos based industrialist, Chief Godwin Okafor said Governor Obiano has through effective security network restored investors confidence to the state.
Others disclosed that the governor has been consistent in payment of salaries and entitlements to the states civil Servants unlike most other states in the country.
Again, some others attributed the Award to the fact that the state government has provided some capital projects in spite of the truth that revenue accrued to the state has reduced due to the nation's economic woes.
This they say, is a proof that the state government manages the state's resources prudently.
